The Bloodhound is a dog with a great sense of smell, which makes it useful in tracking down criminals. It is a very handsome, graceful dog and has been used throughout history as a hunting dog in Britain, but its origins are French.

Bloodhounds are powerful, dignified dogs with loose, baggy skin and long, thin ears. Their coats are usually black and/or tan, and their bodies are around 27 inches tall at the shoulder for males and 25 inches tall for females. They weigh between 89 pounds and 79 pounds each.
